PLD1

  • Official Full Name

    phospholipase D1, phosphatidylcholine-specific

  • Overview

Phospholipase D1 catalyzes the hydrolysis of PC to produce phosphatidic acid and choline and is implicated in numerous cellular pathways, including signal transduction, membrane trafficking, and the regulation of mitosis. May also be involved in the regulation of perinuclear intravesicular membrane traffic. Phospholipase D2 may have a role in signal induced cytoskeletal regulation and/or endocytosis. The mechanisms that regulate phospholipase D2 are not known.

PLD1 has several biochemical functions, for example, N-acylphosphatidylethanolamine-specific phospholipase D activity, phosphatidylinositol binding, phospholipase D activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by PLD1 itself. We selected most functions PLD1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with PLD1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
