TYMP

  • Official Full Name

    thymidine phosphorylase

  • Overview

This gene encodes an angiogenic factor which promotes angiogenesis in vivo and stimulates the in vitro growth of a variety of endothelial cells. It has a highly restricted target cell specificity acting only on endothelial cells. Mutations in this gene have been associated with mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]

TYMP has several biochemical functions, for example, growth factor activity, phosphorylase activity, platelet-derived growth factor receptor binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TYMP itself. We selected most functions TYMP had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TYMP. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

TYMP has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with TYMP here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of TYMP.
