ABCA1

  • Official Full Name

    ATP-binding cassette, sub-family A (ABC1), member 1

  • Overview

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. In humans, this protein functions as a cholesterol efflux pump in the cellular lipid removal pathway. Mutations in the human gene have been associated with Tangiers disease and familial high-density lipoprotein deficiency.

Ask a question
Which expression systems do your protein products come from? 04/14/2023

We have multiple protein expression platforms, including baculovirus-insect cell expression systems, bacterial expression systems (E. coli / Bacillus), mammalian expression systems, yeast expression systems (P pastoris / S cerevisiae), Nicotiana tabacum specific expression platform.

When I perform western blot with ABCA1, ABCA1 always diffuses into adjacent lanes, how should I solve this problem? 04/14/2023

You can try to optimize the protocol for preparing stacking gel and running gel. Appropriately prolonging the running gel polymerization time and completely removing water before pouring into the stacking gel are directions that can be optimized.

What is the function of Trehalose and Proclin300 in ABCA1-5857H? 04/14/2023

Both trehalose and mannitol are added as lyoprotectants, which can significantly prevent protein structure changes, elongation and aggregation during freeze-drying.

Do you provide the ABCA1 recombinant protein with the tag removed? 04/14/2023

Removing labels may affect product stability. If you really need to remove the label, please contact us, we will customize the recombinant protein product according to your needs.

What is the difference between ABCA1 protein in lyophilized powder state and solution state? 04/14/2023

Generally, recombinant proteins expressed by prokaryotic cells are in the state of lyophilized powder and need to be dissolved before use. However, the recombinant protein expressed by eukaryotic cells is more conducive to maintaining its activity and stability when stored in a solution state.

Can you tell me the subcellular localization information of ABCA1 protein? 04/14/2023

ABCA1 protein is mainly located in the cell membrane.

I can't get good signal when I do western blots of large molecular weight ABCA1 protein, any suggestions to improve the signal? 04/14/2023

You can try to use 8%PAGE.

I have not run out of the ABCA1 band, how to solve this problem? 04/14/2023

ABCA1 is a membrane protein, and it is necessary to avoid protein damage during sample processing. You may need to further optimize the sample handling process.

I am doing a western blot that involves an antibody against phosphorylated ABCA1, and I was wondering if you could recommend this antibody. 04/14/2023

You can contact our technical experts directly by email or phone, and they will give you relevant advice.

When I evaluate ABCA1 by Western blot, the internal reference band is clear, but the band of ABCA1 has obvious tailing. How can I optimize it? 04/14/2023

It is recommended to check whether the antibody is suitable, including the specificity and concentration settings.
