This gene encodes a member of the lipid transfer/lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LT/LBP) gene family. It is highly expressed in hypertrophic tonsils. This gene and three other members of the LT/LBP gene family form a cluster on the long arm of chromosome 20.

BPIFB2 has several biochemical functions, for example, lipid binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by BPIFB2 itself. We selected most functions BPIFB2 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with BPIFB2. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
