  • Official Full Name
  • cyclin-dependent kinase 16
  • Background
  • The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the cdc2/cdkx subfamily of the ser/thr family of protein kinases. It may play a role in signal transduction cascades in terminally differentiated cells; in exocytosis; and in transport of secretory cargo from the endoplasmic reticulum. This gene is thought to escape X inactivation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.

Protein Function

CDK16 has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, cyclin-dependent protein serine/threonine kinase activity, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CDK16 itself. We selected most functions CDK16 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CDK16. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
