CHST6

  • Official Full Name

    carbohydrate (N-acetylglucosamine 6-O) sulfotransferase 6

  • Overview

The protein encoded by this gene is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a sulfate group to the GlcNAc residues of keratan. Keratan sulfate helps maintain corneal transparency. Defects in this gene are a cause of macular corneal dystrophy (MCD).

CHST6 has several biochemical functions, for example, N-acetylglucosamine 6-O-sulfotransferase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CHST6 itself. We selected most functions CHST6 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CHST6. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

CHST6 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CHST6 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CHST6.
