|Official Full Name||Kruppel-like factor 8|
|Background||This gene encodes a protein which is a member of the Sp/KLF family of transcription factors. Members of this family contain a C-terminal DNA-binding domain with three Kruppel-like zinc fingers. The encoded protein is thought to play an important role in the regulation of epithelial to mesenchymal transition, a process which occurs normally during development but also during metastasis. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 16. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.|

|Signaling events mediated by focal adhesion kinase||ARHGEF28; ARHGAP26; BMX; ACTA1; KLF8|
KLF8 has several biochemical functions, for example, DNA binding, metal ion binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KLF8 itself. We selected most functions KLF8 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KLF8. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

KLF8 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with KLF8 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of KLF8.
