BLM

  • Official Full Name

    Bloom syndrome, RecQ helicase-like

  • Overview

The Bloom syndrome gene product is related to the RecQ subset of DExH box-containing DNA helicases and has both DNA-stimulated ATPase and ATP-dependent DNA helicase activities. Mutations causing Bloom syndrome delete or alter helicase motifs and may disable the 3-5 helicase activity. The normal protein may act to suppress inappropriate recombination.

BLM has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, ATP-dependent 3-5 DNA helicase activity, ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by BLM itself. We selected most functions BLM had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with BLM. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

BLM has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with BLM here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of BLM.
