JUND

  • Official Full Name

    jun D proto-oncogene
  • Overview

The protein encoded by this intronless gene is a member of the JUN family, and a functional component of the AP1 transcription factor complex. This protein has been proposed to protect cells from p53-dependent senescence and apoptosis. Alternative translation initiation site usage results in the production of different isoforms (PMID:12105216). [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013]

    Protein Function

JUND has several biochemical functions, for example, RNA polymerase II core promoter proximal region sequence-specific DNA binding,RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, sequence-specific DNA binding, enzyme binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by JUND itself. We selected most functions JUND had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with JUND. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
