PIM2
-
Official Full Name
proviral integration site 2
-
Overview
PIM-2 belongs to a family of cytoplasmic serine/threonine protein kinases that consists of two other members, PIM-1 and PIM-3. Expression of this protein is regulated by hematopoietic cytokines. PIM-2 is most abundantly expressed in hematopoietic tissues, spleen, thymus, and peripheral blood leukocytes, as well as in testis, small intestine, and colon. It is also highly expressed in human leukemic and lymphoma cell lines. The gene is also expressed in primary spermatocytes. The results suggest a role for PIM-2 in proliferating cells as well as during meiosis. PIM-2 is thought to be a mediator of p53 mediated apoptosis inhibition by interleukin 3, which supports its role in the formation of various tumors including lymphomas. -

PIM2 has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, protein binding, protein serine/threonine kinase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by PIM2 itself. We selected most functions PIM2 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with PIM2. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

PIM2 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with PIM2 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of PIM2.
