Background Cyclin-dependent kinase 4 inhibitor D (CDKN2D) is a specific inhibitor of cyclin-dependent kinases CDK4 and CDK6. CDK4 is a subunit of the protein kinase complex that is important for cell cycle G1 phase progression.
