CRY2

Official Full Name
cryptochrome 2 (photolyase-like)
-
Overview
Cryptochromes (from the Greek κρυπτ? χρ?μα, hidden colour) are a class of blue light-sensitive flavoproteins found in plants and animals. Cryptochromes are involved in the circadian rhythms of plants and animals, and in the sensing of magnetic fields in a number of species. The name Cryptochrome was proposed as a pun combining the cryptic nature of the photoreceptor, and the cryptogamic organisms on which many blue light studies were carried out. -

CRY2 has several biochemical functions, for example, NOT DNA (6-4) photolyase activity, DNA binding, FAD binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CRY2 itself. We selected most functions CRY2 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CRY2. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

CRY2 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CRY2 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CRY2.
