Description : |
This gene encodes a type-I membrane protein that is related to beta-glucosidases. Reduced production of this protein has been observed in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF), and this may be one of the factors underlying the degenerative processes (e.g., arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis, and skin atrophy) seen in CRF. Also, mutations within this protein have been associated with ageing and bone loss. |
Predicted N Terminal : |
Glu34 |
Form : |
Supplied as a 0.2 µm filtered solution in MES, Glycerol and EDTA. |
Bio-activity : |
Measured in a cell proliferation assay using NIH-3T3 mouse embryonic fibroblast cells. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.025 - 0.1 µg/mL in the presence of 1 µg/mL of rhFGF-23 and 10 µg/mL of Heparin.Measured in a cell proliferation assay using BaF3 mouse pro-B cells transfected with human FGF RIIIc. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.025 - 0.1 µg/mL in the presence of rhFGF-23 and Heparin. |
