Description : |
V-set and transmembrane domain-containing protein 2B (VSTM2B) is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the immunoglobulin (Ig) superfamily. There have been 8 VSTM family members identified and several have been shown to exhibit immunosuppressive activity (1). Human VSTM2B consists of an extracellular domain (ECD) with an Ig-like V-type domain, a transmembrane domain, and single amino acid (aa) in the cytoplasm. The mature ECD of human VSTM2B shares 86% and 85% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat VSTM2B, respectively. Currently, both the expression pattern and biological functions of VSTM2B remain unknown. Our in-house data show that VSTM2B inhibits the human T cell activation, including anti-CD3 induced IL-2, IFN-gamma secretion, and T cell proliferation. Our Avi-tag Biotinylated Recombinant VSTM2B features biotinylation at a single site contained within the Avi-tag, a unique 15 amino acid peptide. Protein orientation will be uniform when bound to streptavidin-coated surface due to the precise control of biotinylation and the rest of the protein is unchanged so there is no interference in the protein's bioactivity. |
