Description : |
Epyc, also called epiphycanor PGLb, is a 95-100 kDa class III subfamily member of the SLRP (small leucinerichproteoglycans) family of molecules. It is synthesized as a 322 amino acid (aa)precursor that contains a 19 aa signal sequence and a 303 aa mature region. Themature molecule contains three N-terminal O-glycosylation sites (including onefound to bind dermatin sulfate) and a glutamic acidrich motif followed by sixleucinerich repeats (LRR) that contain two potential Nglycosylation sites. |
Form : |
Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered solution in PBS. |
N-terminalSequence : |
Ala20 |
Molecular Weight : |
36.2 kDa |
Activity : |
Measuredby the ability of the immobilized protein to inhibit the adhesion of SAOS2 humanosteosarcoma cells (ATCC: HTB85) to human Fibronectin. When 5 x 104cells/well are added to Mouse Epyc and Human Fibronectin(0.5 μg/mL) coated plates, the cell adhesion is enhanced in a dose dependent manner. The ED50 for this effect is typically 0.3-1.2 μg/mL. Optimal dilutionsshould be determined by each laboratory for each application. |
Endotoxin Level : |
<1.0 EUper 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method. |
Purity : |
>95%,by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain. |
