• Description: SH3GL2(SH3-domain GRB2-like 2), also known as endophilin-A1, belongs to theendophilin family. It contains a BAR domain and a SH3 domain. Members of theBAR domain protein superfamily are essential elements of cellular traffic.Endophilins are among the best studied BAR domain proteins. They have aprominent function in synaptic vesicle endocytosis (SVE), receptortrafficking and apoptosis, and in other processes that require remodeling ofthe membrane structure. SH3GL2 a novel tumor suppressor gene in laryngealsquamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), induces apoptosis of tumor cells byregulating intra-cellular signal transduction networks.
