HGS

  • Official Full Name

hepatocyte growth factor-regulated tyrosine kinase substrate

  • Overview

Hepatocyte growth factor-regulated tyrosine kinase substrate . In order to perform this function, HRS is ubiquitinated at its ubiquitin interacting motif (UIM). This allows interaction of HRS with similarly ubiquitinated vesicle-related proteins such as STAM1 and Eps15, as well as ubiquitinated receptors tagged for lysosomal degradation. Complexes of HRS and STAM1 are located in vesicular membranes and regulate the sorting of tagged receptors to the lysosomes.
