Description : The CD40 molecule is a 45- 50-kDa type I phosphorylated glycoprotein that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and was initially considered to be a growth factor receptor on B cells. The interaction of CD40 with its natural ligand, CD154, is a crucial step in T cell-dependent B cell activation and differentiation. The cellular events triggered in CD40-positive cells following CD40/CD154 interactions are not restricted to B cells only but can also be triggered in dendritic cells, monocytes, epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. Thus, CD40 ligation mediates a broad variety of immune and inflammatory responses.
Source : HEK293 cells
Species : Mouse
Tag : His
Form : Recombinant Mouse CD40 is lyophilized from 0.2 μm filtered PBS solution, pH7.2 , 5% Trehalose.
Bio-activity : The activity was tested by the ability of immobilized recombinant mouse CD40 to bind Human CD40 Ligand with a linear range of 10-500 ng/ml.
Molecular Mass : Recombinant CD40 is a protein consisting of 180 amino acid residue subunits, due to glycosylation migrates as an approximately 30kDa protein on SDS-PAGE.
Endotoxin : Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/µg(1EU/µg).
Purity : >97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Storage : Recombinant CD40 can be stored in working aliquots at 2° - 8° C for one month, or at -20°C to -70°C for twelve months. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Ask a question
Can CD40-targeted therapies be used in the treatment of infectious diseases? 05/31/2022

CD40 agonists have the potential to enhance immune responses against infectious agents, but their clinical use in this context is an area of ongoing research.

Are there any approved drugs targeting CD40 for clinical use? 05/07/2021

As of my knowledge cutoff date in January 2022, there were no FDA-approved drugs specifically targeting CD40. However, clinical trials were ongoing for CD40-targeted therapies.

Can CD40-targeted therapies be used in combination with other cancer treatments? 04/24/2019

Yes, CD40-targeted therapies are often investigated in combination with other treatments like checkpoint inhibitors or chemotherapy to enhance their effectiveness.

What are the potential side effects of CD40-targeted therapies in cancer treatment? 09/25/2018

Side effects may include flu-like symptoms, cytokine release syndrome, and immune-related adverse events, which can be managed with supportive care and close monitoring.

Are there ongoing clinical trials exploring CD40-targeted therapies for atherosclerosis? 04/25/2017

Research on CD40-targeted therapies for atherosclerosis is still in the experimental stages and not yet in advanced clinical trials.
