Recombinant Mouse Growth Differentiation Factor 5

Cat. No.: Gdf5-720M
Product Overview: Recombinant Mouse Gdf5protein was expressed in E. coli with and without an N-terminal Met. Ala376-Arg495.
Description: Gdf5, also known ascartilage-derived morphogenetic protein 1, is a member of the bonemorphogenetic protein (BMP) family which belongs to the transforming growthfactor β (TGFβ) superfamily. Gdf5 is synthesized as a large precursor proteinthat consists of an N-terminal 19 amino acid (aa) signal sequence, a 362 aapro region and a 120 aa C-terminal mature peptide. Mature Gdf5 isahomodimeric protein which contains the characteristic seven conservedcysteine residues.
Source: E. coli-derived.
Form: Lyophilized from a0.2 μm filtered solution in Acetonitrile and TFA with BSA as a carrierprotein.
N-terminalSequence: Met and Ala376
Molecular Weight: 13.7 kDa
Activity: Measuredby its ability to induce alkaline phosphatase production by ATDC5 mousechondrogenic cells. Nakamura, K. et al. (1999) Exp. Cell Res. 250:351. The ED50for this effect is typically 0.2-1.2 μg/mL.
Endotoxin Level: <1.0 EUper 1 μg of the protein by the LAL method.
Purity: >95%,by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
Reconstitution: 150μg/mL in sterile 4 mM HCl that containing at least 0.1% human or bovine serumalbumin.
Storage: Use amanual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. 12 months fromdate of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied. 1 month, 2 to 8 °C under sterileconditions after reconstitution. 3 months, -20 to -70°C under sterileconditions after reconstitution.
