|Product Overview :
||Recombinant Human Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin is expressed in E. coli having a molecular weight of 28.1 kDa fused to an amino terminal hexahistidine tag. The NGAL is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
||Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including α1-microglobulin and β-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke.
|Physical Appearance :
||Sterile Filtered clear solution.
||Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Single band on Western Blot.
||Lipocalin-2 (0.35 mg/ml) is supplied in PBS, 50% glycerol.
||NGAL can be used directly as a positive control in Western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation and other immunological experiments. The biological activity of this product has not yet been tested.
