Cat. No. : |
MDK-384H |
Description : |
Midkine (MK, MDK), or Neurite Growth-promoting Factor 2, is a basic heparin-binding growth factor of low molecular weight, a member of the NEGF family whose founding member is pleiotrophin (NEGF1, 46% homologous with MK). It is a nonglycosylated protein, composed of two domains held by disulfide bridges. It is a developmentally important retinoic acid-responsive gene product strongly induced during mid-gestation, hence the name midkine. Restricted mainly to certain tissues in the normal adult, it is strongly induced during oncogenesis, inflammation and tissue repair. |
Amino Acid Sequence : |
Recombinant Human Midkine has a molecular mass of 14.6 kDa protein and contains 121 amino acid residues of the Midkine human and 10 additional amino acid residues –His-Tag. Source : |
E. coli. |
Purity : |
Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. |
Format : |
Lyophilized from 0.5mg/ml in 0.05M phosphate buffer and 0.1M NaCl, pH 7.2. |
Specificity : |
The amino acid sequence of the Midkine human recombinant is 100% homologous to the amino acid sequence of the Midkine human without signal sequence. |
Applications : |
Western blotting, ELISA. |
Reconstitution : |
Add 0.2 ml of PBS pH 7.2 and let the lyophilized pellet dissolve completely. |
Storage : |
Store lyophilized protein at -20℃. Aliquot the product after reconstitution to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 4°Cfor a limited period of time; it does not show any change after two weeks at 4°C. The lyophilized protein remains stable until the expiry date when stored at -20°C. |
