Description : |
EphrinA1, also knownas B61 and LERK1, is a member of the EphrinA family of GPIanchored ligandsthat bind and induce the tyrosine autophosphorylation of Eph receptors. EphrinAligands are structurally related to the extracellular domains of the transmembraneEphrinB ligands. It can also be released as a soluble molecule. The mature 2125 kDa mouse EphrinA1 shares 85% and 94% aa sequence identity with human andrat EphrinA1, respectively. EphrinA1 is widely expressed on endothelial andepithelial cells, particularly in the lung, intestine, liver, and skin. It inhibitstumor cell proliferation and migration but also supports tumor growth by promotingangiogenesis. Soluble EphrinA1 additionally promotes neuronal survival and neuriteextension. |
