Description : This gene encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q.
Source : E. coli
Biological activity : Biological Activity: The specific activity as determined by the ability of MCP3 to chemoattract human peripheral blood at 10-100ng/ml.
Form : Lyophilised:Lyophilized from a concentrated (1mg/ml) sterile solution containing no additives. Reconstitute the lyophilized product in sterile 18MOhm-cm H2O not less than 100μg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Purity : >95% by SDS-PAGE
Storage : Shipped at 4°C. Upon delivery aliquot and store at -20°C or -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze / thaw cycles.
Sequences of amino acids : The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Gln-Pro-Val-Gly-Ile.
Sequence Similarities : Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.
Gene Name : CCL7 chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 7 [ Homo sapiens ]
