CCL7

Official Full Name chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 7
Background Murine MCP-3, also known as Monocyte Chemotactic Protein 3 or C-C Motif Chemokine 7, is a 97 amino acid cytokine protein expressed from the Ccl7 gene located on chromosome 11. After initial synthesis and translocation, the 23 residue signal sequence is cleaved, allowing for the 74 residue MCP-3 peptide to properly fold and mature. MCP-3 is essentially a chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Moreover, the monomeric member of the intercrine beta (chemokine C-C) family tends to augment monocyte anti-tumor activity as well.
Synonyms RP23-350G1.4; MCP-3; Scya7; fic; marc; mcp3; C-C motif chemokine 7; RANTES/sis homolog; intercrine/chemokine MARC; monocyte chemoattractant protein 3; monocyte chemotactic protein 3; small inducible cytokine A7; small-inducible cytokine A7
