Official Full Name
chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 4

Overview
CCL4, also known as Macrophage inflammatory protein-1β (MIP-1β) is a CC chemokine with specificity for CCR5 receptors. It is a chemoattractant for natural killer cells, monocytes and a variety of other immune cells. CCL4 is a major HIV-suppressive factor produced by CD8+ T cells. Perforin-low memory CD8+ T cells that normally synthesize MIP-1-beta. -

Ccl4 has several biochemical functions, for example, CCR1 chemokine receptor binding, CCR5 chemokine receptor binding, chemokine activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by Ccl4 itself. We selected most functions Ccl4 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with Ccl4. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
