Cat. No. : IL5-528H
Description : IL-5 is a potent T-cell derived factor that stimulates the growth of certain B cells and the differentiation of eosinophils.
Biological Activity : The ED50 as determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of the proliferation of human TF-1 cells is <0.15 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >6x106 units/mg.
Molecular Weight : 26.5 kDa
Source : E. coli
Species : Human
Form : Lyophilized (from 1 mg/ml in 0.4X PBS)
Appearance : Lyophilized protein
Endotoxin Level : <0.1 ng/μg
Reconstitution : Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1 mg/ml. The solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions or stored at -20°C for future use. For most in vitro applications, IL-5 exerts its biological activity in the concentration range of 0.1 to 10 ng/ml.
Purity : >98% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analysis
Storage : The lyophilized IL-5 is best-stored desiccated below 0°C. Reconstituted IL-5 should be stored at working aliquots at -20°C. For long-term storage, it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HAS or BSA). Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
Pathways : Allograft rejection; Asthma; Autoimmune thyroid disease; Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction; Fc epsilon RI signaling pathway; Hematopoietic cell lineage; Jak-STAT signaling pathway; cell receptor signaling pathway
