Cat. No. : | MMP9-44H |
Description : | Recombinant Human Lipocalin-2 also called Neutrophil Gelatinase Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) belongs to a family of lipocans which include 25 proteins (including α1-microglobulin and β-lactoglobulin), which are characterized by their ability to bind small lipophilic substances in their hydrophobic core. They thereby serve as transporters of substances like retinal, biliverdins & prostaglandins. There are indications that NGAL is involved in modulation of the inflammatory response and is found in the plasma of patients after stroke. |
Source : | Escherichia Coli. |
Physical Appearance : | Sterile Filtered clear solution. |
Purity : | Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Single band on Western Blot. |
Formulation : | Lipocalin-2 (0.35 mg/ml) is supplied in PBS, 50% glycerol. |
Application : | NGAL can be used directly as a positive control in Western blotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation and other immunological experiments. The biological activity of this product has not yet been tested. |
Storage Conditions : | Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 1-2 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionDysregulated MMP9 expression is associated with cancer invasion and metastasis, as it enables tumor cells to degrade the extracellular matrix and invade surrounding tissues.
Polymorphisms in the MMP9 gene can influence enzyme activity, potentially affecting the individual's susceptibility to certain diseases and the progression of pathological conditions.
MMP9 facilitates tissue remodeling by cleaving structural proteins in the extracellular matrix, such as collagen and gelatin, leading to changes in tissue architecture.
MMP9 contributes to the breakdown of the blood-brain barrier by degrading tight junction proteins, potentially exacerbating neurological disorders and neuroinflammation.
MMP9 plays a role in angiogenesis by promoting the release and activation of growth factors sequestered in the extracellular matrix, facilitating the formation of new blood vessels.
