Species : |
Mouse |
Source : |
E.coli |
Description : |
This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial infections. Mice deficient in this gene have increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. |
Bio-activity : |
Determined by its ability to inhibit the proliferation of murine WEHI-279 cells. The expected ED50 is less than or equal to 0.2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5 x 10^6 units/mg. |
Molecular Mass : |
15.6 kDa |

Endotoxin : |
Endotoxin level is < 0.1 ng/µg of protein (< 1 EU/µg) |
Purity : |
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and Coomassie blue staining |
Stability : |
Stable for at least 6 months from date of receipt under proper storage and handling conditions. |
Storage : |
Store at -80 centigrade. |
Storage Buffer : |
Lyophilized from a 0.2 µM filtered solution of 20mM phosphate buffer,100mM NaCl, pH 7.2 |
Reconstitution : |
Resuspend the protein in the desired concentration in proper buffer. |
