NFKBIB

  • Official Full Name

nuclear factor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells inhibitor, beta

  • Overview

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the NF-kappa-B inhibitor family, which inhibit NF-kappa-B by complexing with, and trapping it in the cytoplasm. Phosphorylation of serine residues on these proteins by kinases marks them for destruction via the ubiquitination pathway, thereby allowing activation of the NF-kappa-B, which translocates to the nucleus to function as a transcription factor. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene.

NFKBIB has several biochemical functions, for example, protein binding, signal transducer activity, transcription coactivator activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by NFKBIB itself. We selected most functions NFKBIB had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with NFKBIB. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

NFKBIB has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with NFKBIB here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of NFKBIB.
