CTLA4:B7-1[Biotinylated] Inhibitor Screening Assay Kit
Cat.No. : | Kit-1712 |
Product Overview : | The activation of native T cells requires two signals, the specific T cell receptor recognition of MHC/Antigen on the surface of the antigen-presenting cell (APC), and the binding of B7-1 (CD80) ligand on the APC with the CD28 receptor on the T cell surface. Conversely, binding of CTLA4 to B7-1 on the T-cell surface results in an inhibitory signal and prevents T-cell activation. CTLA4:B7-1 interaction is an important drug target for the regulation of the host"s response to cancer. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionYes, several clinical trials are investigating the combination of CTLA-4 inhibitors with PD-1 inhibitors and other immunotherapies to improve the overall effectiveness of cancer treatment.
CTLA-4 is expressed on various immune cells, including T cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and some B cells, contributing to its diverse immunoregulatory functions.
Modulating CTLA-4 may have applications in organ transplantation by suppressing the immune response against transplanted tissues and reducing the risk of rejection.
CTLA-4 is involved in the suppression of autoreactive T cells, contributing to the prevention of autoimmune responses by maintaining immune tolerance.
While both CTLA-4 and PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors enhance anti-tumor immune responses, they target different checkpoints in the immune system. CTLA-4 primarily regulates T-cell activation in the early stages, whereas PD-1/PD-L1 acts later in the immune response.
