| Description : | α-Chymotrypsin is a serine protease that can hydrolyze the carboxy-terminal peptide bonds of tyrosine, tryptophan, and phenylalanine. Ca2+ serves as an activator and stabilizer for α-chymotrypsin. Meanwhile, this enzyme is inhibited by DFP, PMSF, TPCK, chymotrypsin inhibitor, aprotinin, α1-antitrypsin and α2-macroglobulin, 10 mM Cu2+ and Hg2+. |

| Unit definition : | One unit (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme that hydrolyzes 1.0 μmol of BTEE per minute under the conditions of pH 7.8 and 25 centigrade. |
| Usage : | 1. It is recommended to centrifuge this product at 100-200g for 2 minutes before use. Then, carefully open the lid and add 1 mM HCl for reconstitution to a final concentration of 1 mg/mL. After that, close the tube lid and invert the tube up-and-down or shake it to mix thoroughly. After reconstitution, this product can be stored at 4 centigrade or -20 centigrade for at least 3 months. Try to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles after reconstitution. 2. After reconstitution, this product can be directly applied to peptide mapping analysis or protein identification. The recommended addition ratio is 1: 20-1: 200, and the digestion is carried out at 25 centigrade for 2-18 h. |
