The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor is required for generation and long-term maintenance of T cell immunity. It binds to ligand CD70, and plays a key role in regulating B-cell activation and immunoglobulin synthesis. This receptor transduces signals that lead to the activation of NF-kappaB and MAPK8/JNK. Adaptor proteins TRAF2 and TRAF5 have been shown to mediate the signaling process of this receptor. CD27-binding protein (SIVA), a proapoptotic protein, can bind to this receptor and is thought to play an important role in the apoptosis induced by this receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Cd27 involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways Cd27 participated on our site, such as Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with Cd27 were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.
Cd27 has several biochemical functions, for example, cysteine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity involved in apoptotic process, protein binding, transmembrane signaling receptor activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by Cd27 itself. We selected most functions Cd27 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with Cd27. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
