| Description : | D-3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HBDB) is an enzyme, found in the inner surface of the inner mitochondrial membrane, that catalyzes the oxidation of the reversible conversion between d-3-hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate using NAD(+) as a coenzyme. HBDB is a lipid-dependent enzyme; in the absence of lipids, the enzyme is inactive. |
