Description : NAP-2 (Neutrophil Activating Peptide 2) is a member of the CXC chemokine family. It is similar to other ELR domain containing chemokines to CXC receptors such as interleukin-8 and GRO proteins. NAP-2 binds to CXCR-2 and chemoattracts and activates neutrophils. NAP-2 is a proteolytically processed carboxyl-terminal fragment of platelet basic protein (PBP) and is found in the -granules of human platelets.
Species : Human
Form : Lyophilized
Bio-activity : Activity measured by the protein's ability to induce myeloperoxidase release from cytochalasin B treated human neutrophils. ED50 for thisactivity is 0.2-0.5 μg/ml.
Applications : Activity Assay
Storage : Product should be stored at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid freeze/thaw cycles
Reconstitution : Recommended reconstitution in sterile phosphate buffered saline which contains at least 0.1% human or bovine serum albumin to prepare a stocksolution of no less than 20 μg/ml and vortex thoroughly.
Gene Name : PPBP pro-platelet basic protein (chemokine (C-X-C motif) ligand 7) [ Homo sapiens ]
