• Product Overview: Dextran is a gel filtration medium prepared by crosslinking dextran with epichlorohydrin. Dextran G-50 Medium is well established gel filtration medium for desalting and buffer exchange of biomolecules >30 000 molecular weight. The larger bead size of G-50 Medium is suited for large scale separations.

Quickly desalts, removes contaminants and transfers to a new buffer in a single step.2. Suitable for purification of DNA from small molecules by gel filtration3. • Chemical stability: Dextran is stable in all commonly used aqueous buffers and additives such as ionic and non-ionic detergents, denaturing agents (8 M urea or 6 M guanidine hydrochloride). The media are stable in short chain alcohols such as ethanol, methanol and propanol, but concentrations above 25% should not normally be used. Note that Dextran shrinks in alcohol solutions.
