||Dextran is a gel filtration medium prepared by crosslinking dextran with epichlorohydrin. Dextran G-100 is useful for desalting and buffer exchange of very large biomolecules.
||Quickly desalts, removes contaminants and transfers to a new buffer in a single step.
|Average particle size:
||particle wet: 100 μm-310 μmparticle dry: 40 μm-120 μm
||Dextran is stable in all commonly used aqueous buffers and additives such as ionic and non-ionic detergents, denaturing agents (8 M urea or 6 M guanidine hydrochloride). The media are stable in short chain alcohols such as ethanol, methanol and propanol, but concentrations above 25% should not normally be used. Note that Dextran shrinks in alcohol solutions.
||Avoid changes in temperature which may cause air bubbles in the packing.
