Description : | Jacalin lectin (AIA) is purified by affinity chromatography and is tetrameric two-chain structure consisting of four identical protomers with an isoelectric point of pH 7. 8. The lectin has specificity for blood group types O (+SA) and T. Jacalin is considered a galactose-specific lectin and elutes with galactose or melibiose. Affinity purified Artocarpus integrifolia (Jacalin) Lectin (AIA) is immobilized on aminated paramagnetic beads using EDC and stabilized in a buffer to retain maximum activity. These beads are ideal for iP applications to pull down glycoproteins. |

Q&As (10)
Ask a questionThe AIA protein-auxin complex modulates the expression of target genes, affecting the transcription of factors involved in various developmental pathways.
Epigenetic modifications like DNA methylation and histone modifications can regulate AIA protein gene expression, influencing auxin responses.
Environmental factors such as light, temperature, and humidity can influence the expression of AIA protein genes, modulating auxin responses accordingly.
The AIA protein typically contains a specific domain, often referred to as the auxin-binding pocket, which accommodates auxin molecules through non-covalent interactions.
The AIA protein's role in auxin signaling can impact stress responses, such as drought tolerance and defense against pathogens, by affecting gene expression networks.
The AIA protein might share structural motifs with other plant receptors, revealing insights into conserved signaling mechanisms across receptor families.
The AIA protein acts as a receptor that binds to auxin molecules, initiating a signaling cascade that regulates gene expression and various physiological responses.
Alterations in AIA protein levels can affect auxin distribution between root and shoot tissues, influencing growth coordination and adaptive responses.
The AIA protein's activity influences processes such as cell elongation, root development, vascular tissue differentiation, and phototropism in plants.
The AIA protein's interactions with other hormone signaling pathways, like cytokinins and gibberellins, influence complex hormonal crosstalk that shapes plant development.
