Description : | Tropomyosin, in association with the troponin complex, plays a central role in the calcium dependent regulation of muscle contraction. There are generally two species, the white (L.setiferus) and brown (F. aztecus) shrimp that overlap in seasons in the Carolina waters. Pink shrimp (F. duorarum) also occur, especially in North Carolina catches. Because of the overlap of three different species, we cannot specify the species, most likely it is a mixture. |
