Description : | Antibody Binding GFP is a Protein G-GFP fusion protein. It consists of protein G and enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP), while the two proteins connect via a short peptide. Protein G tightly binds to IgG molecules from rabbit, human, mouse, goat, sheep, cow, and rat. Since protein A binds poorly to human IgG3, mouse IgG1, and immunoglobulins from rat, sheep, and horse, protein G conjugates are especially valuable for detecting these antibodies. EGFP has an excitation and emission spectra of 488/509nm, allowing its detection under fluorescent microscopy and flow cytometry. As an antibody binding GFP, Protein G-EGFP protein can avoid harmful labeling of the detecting antibody. Because staining protocols vary with application, the appropriate dilution of Antibody Binding GFP should be determined empirically. |
