• Product Overview: Recombinant human Collagen I is a 10.7 kDa protein containing 116 amino acid residues fused to a 6 His tag N-terminal. rHuman Collagen migrates as a 14-15 kDa band under reducing conditions. Recombinant human Collagen I is a fragment of Collagen alpha-1(I) chain, the major structural component of skin, bone, tendon and other fibrous connective tissue. Type I Collagen is a key factor of the tensile properties of the ECM. The amino acid sequence is mainly a repeating motif with glycine in very third position with proline or 4-hydroxyproline preceding the glycine residue. Since this sequence contains the tripeptide Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD), considered as best know collagen cell surface receptors, recombinant collagen I could participate in the regulation and cellular signaling via the RGD motif.
