Recombinant Human Erythropoietin

Cat.No. : EPO-01H
Product Overview : Recombinant Human EPO is expressed in CHO cells. The mature protein consists of a 165 amino acid polypeptide chain heavily glycosylated at three N-linked and O-linked glycosylation sites yielding a total molecular mass of 35-45kDa. About 40% of the fully glycosylated EPO molecule consists of carbohydrate.

Cat. No. : EPO-01H
Description : Erythropoietin (EPO) is a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The protein is found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. This protein also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and antiapoptotic functions in several tissue types.
Purity : ≥98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses
Formulation : Sterile filtered lyophilized powder.
Specific Activity : rHuEPO is fully biologically active when compared to standards. Its specific activity is ≥1.2×105IU/mg.
Endotoxin : Less than 0.1EU/µg determined by LAL test.
Reconstitution : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized rHuEPO in sterile buffer not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Storagee : Lyophilized rHuEPO although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Reconstituted rHuEPO aliquots should be stored at –20°C for maximal stability up to three years. Aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

        Q&As (6)

        Ask a question
What is the relationship between EPO protein and cardiovascular disease? 08/05/2019

EPO protein can promote the renewal and repair of heart blood vessels, and has the effect of protecting the heart from ischemia-reperfusion damage.

How does EPO protein regulate erythropoiesis? 07/12/2019

By binding to receptors, EPO proteins activate signaling pathways that promote the proliferation and differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells in bone marrow into erythrocytes.

How about the clinical use of EPO protein? 06/12/2019

EPO protein can be used by injection or oral, and the specific method and dosage need to be determined according to the condition and the doctor's advice.

What are the implications of EPO protein research for the future of treating anemia? 05/14/2019

The study of EPO protein helps to understand the regulatory mechanism of erythropoiesis and provides new ideas and methods for the treatment of anemia, such as developing more effective EPO protein analogues or improving existing treatment regimens.

How is EPO protein treated for anemia? 05/02/2019

This protein stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells, thereby increasing hemoglobin levels and treating anemia.

What is the role of EPO protein in kidney disease? 04/04/2019

In kidney disease, due to impaired kidney function, the production of EPO protein decreases, leading to anemia. Supplementation with exogenous EPO protein can help correct anemia caused by kidney problems.
