Description : |
Mucosal vascular addressin cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1) is a multifunctional type l transmembrane adhesion molecule that is expressed selectively at venular sites of lymphocyte extravasation into mucosal lymphoid tissues and lamina propria, where it directs local lymphocyte trafficking. MAdCAM-1 is involved in the normal recirculation of lymphocytes between the blood and the gastrointestinal tract. MAdCAM-1 may be a relevant tissue-specific therapeutic target for the modulation of inflammatory bowel disease activity. |
Molecular Weight : |
The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Mouse MAdCAM-1 is Mr 63 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 85-95 kDa. |
