• Description: RELM beta (Resistin-like molecule beta/FIZZ2) is an 18kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric protein expressed in the epithelium of the colon and small bowel. The biological functions of RELM beta, and its molecular targets, are not fully known but, it has been suggested that it plays a regulatory role during inflammation and may also act to establish links among adipose tissue, the intestine and the liver. Interestingly the molecular structure of RELM beta is highly homologous to that of the adipose-derived cytokine Resistin and RELM beta. These proteins share a highly conserved C-terminal domain, characterized by 10 cysteine residues with a unique spacing motif of C-X11-C-X8-C-X-C-X3-C-X10-C-X-C-X-C-X9-C-C. This Recombinant Murine RELM beta is an 18.0kDa, consisting of two 83 amino acid residue chains.

• Supplied: The sterile filtered solution was lyophilized from 10 mM sodium citrate pH3.0.
• Reconstitution: We recommend a quick spin followed by reconstitution in sterile DI water or 10mM sodium citrate pH3.0 to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Allow to set at least 30 minutes at 4℃, tighten cap and rotate to reconstitute any material on sides of vial. If desired, you can centrifuge at 1000 rpm for 1 minute to concentrate volume in bottom of vial. This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions containing carrier protein or medium containing serum and stored at 4℃ (up to 1 week) or -20℃ long term.
• Purity: Greater than 97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Endotoxin level is less than 0.1µg (1EU/µg).
• Storage: The lyophilized powder is stable at room temperature for a few weeks but it is best stored desiccated at -20℃. Reconstituted RELM-BETA should be stored in working aliquots at -20℃. Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
