| Description : |
GM-CSF can act on hematopoietic stem cells and promote their differentiation and proliferation, while the cells formed are not limited to the neutrophil and monocyte-phagocyte systems. In vitro experimental studies revealed that with increasing GM-CSF concentration, proliferation of mononuclear macrophages was first stimulated, followed by neutrophils and finally eosinophils and megakaryocytes. In addition GM-CSF also stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of pluripotent stem cells and early erythroid cells. |
