Description : |
Keratinocyte growth factor is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FGF7 gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. This protein is a potent epithelial cell-specific growth factor, whose mitogenic activity is predominantly exhibited in keratinocytes but not in fibroblasts and endothelial cells. |
Purity : |
Purity > 90%. Purified by heparin affinity chromatography. |
Activity : |
The activity of rat FGF-7 at 1-10 ng/ml is determined by tritiated thymidine incorporation using cultured mouse keratinocytes. Maximum stimulation observed at 1 ng/ml. The optimal concentration of this product for use with other cell types must be determined by the end user. |
Specifity : |
45102 binds to keratinocytes and most parenchymal epithelial cells; binds specific splice variant of FGF receptor expessed in epithelial cells (FGFr2IIIb). |
Content : |
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods: 1. UV spectroscopy at 280 nm. 2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of IGF-II as a Reference Standard. |
Storage : |
This product is stable for at least one year at -20℃ to -70℃. Keep frozen until use. Store product in appropriate aliquots to avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. |
