Source : HEK293
Species : Rat
Tag : His
Form : Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements. Normally 5 % - 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Bio-activity : Measured by its ability to inhibit VEGF-dependent proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). The ED50 for this effect is typically 15-70ng/mL in the presence of 10 ng/mL rmVEGF164.
Molecular Mass : The recombinant rat FLT1 comprises 747 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 84 kDa. The apparent molecular mass of the recombinant protein is approximately 108-114 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions due to glycosylation.
Protein Length : Met1-Glu758
Endotoxin : < 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Purity : > 90 % as determined by SDS-PAGE
Storage : Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20°C to -80°C
Store it under sterile conditions at -20°C to -80°C. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Reconstitution : It is recommended that sterile water be added to the vial to prepare a stock solution of 0.2 ug/ul. Centrifuge the vial at 4°C before opening to recover the entire contents.
Gene Name : Flt1 FMS-related tyrosine kinase 1 [ Rattus norvegicus ]
Official Symbol : Flt1
Synonyms : FLT1; FMS-related tyrosine kinase 1; vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1; FLT-1; FMS-like tyrosine kinase 1; tyrosine-protein kinase receptor FLT; vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1; Fms-related tyrosine kinase 1 (vascular endothelial growth factor/vascular permeability factor receptor); VEGFR-1;

        Q&As (5)

        Ask a question
How is FLT1 linked to preeclampsia in pregnancy? 08/26/2021

Elevated levels of soluble FLT1 have been associated with preeclampsia, a pregnancy complication. Soluble FLT1 acts as a decoy receptor, reducing the bioavailability of VEGF and contributing to vascular dysfunction.

How does FLT1 contribute to retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy? 07/23/2021

FLT1 has been implicated in retinal diseases like diabetic retinopathy, where abnormal blood vessel growth can lead to vision impairment. Inhibiting FLT1 may help regulate angiogenesis in such conditions.

How is FLT1 expression regulated in the human body? 12/09/2020

FLT1 expression is regulated by various factors, including VEGF itself, as well as hypoxia and inflammation. These factors influence the balance of angiogenic signaling.

Can FLT1 be a biomarker for certain diseases? 12/01/2018

Yes, elevated levels of soluble FLT1 have been investigated as potential biomarkers for conditions like preeclampsia, cancer, and certain cardiovascular diseases.

Can FLT1 be targeted for anti-angiogenic therapy? 09/20/2017

Yes, targeting FLT1 is a strategy for anti-angiogenic therapy. Inhibiting FLT1 can impede blood vessel formation, limiting the blood supply to tumors and potentially slowing their growth.
