Native Rat Ceruloplasmin

Cat. No.: Cp-048R
Product Overview: Native Rat Cp is anapproximately 120 kDa monomeric serum protein that fuctions as a coppertransporter. It is a positive acute phase reactant, the levels of whichincrease significantly in mice in response to inflammation, tissue injury anddisease.
Description: Cp (orcaeruloplasmin) is a ferroxidase enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CPgene. Cp is the major copper-carrying protein in the blood, and in additionplays a role in iron metabolism. It was first described in 1948. Anotherprotein, hephaestin, is noted for its homology to ceruloplasmin, and alsoparticipates in iron and probably copper metabolism.
