Description : Heparansulfate is a highly sulfated polysaccharide that can be found on the cellsurface and extracellular matrix. It is usually covalently attached to aprotein core as the glycan component of a proteoglycan. Heparan sulfateinteracts with a variety of proteins, such as growth factors, proteaseinhibitors, cytokines, lipoprotein lipase and viral envelope proteins, therefore playing roles in cell growth, cell differentiation, cell motility, blood coagulation, lipid metabolism and viral infection. Heparan sulfateconsists of repeating residues of uronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Theuronic acid residues can be sulfated at the 2-O position by heparan sulfate 2-Osulfotransferase.
Source : Chinese HamsterOvary cell line, CHO-derived.
Form : Supplied as a 0.2 umfiltered solution in Tris, NaCl and EDTA.
N-terminalSequence : His
MolecularWeight : 53 kDa
Activity : Measuredby its ability to transfer sulfate from PAPS to heparan sulfate. The specificactivity is > 40 pmoles/min/μg, as measured under the described conditions.
Endotoxin Level : <1.0EU per 1μg of the protein by the LAL method.
SDS-PAGE : 70-90kDa, reducing conditions.
Purity : >95%,by SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions and visualized by silver stain.
Storage : Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freezethawcycles. 6months from date of receipt, -20 to -70°C as supplied. 3 months, -20 to -70°Cunder sterile conditions after opening.
