Description: CADM2 is animmunoglobulin super family member that is also designated as synaptic celladhesion molecule 2 and nectin-like protein 3. The four CADM2 proteins,designated A, B, C and D, are type I transmembrane glycoproteins expressedmainly in epithelial cells that contain one V-type Ig-like and two C2-typeIg-like domains in their extracellular regions. These domains arecharacteristically responsible for Ca2+ independent homophilic andheterophilic interactions in the brain, lung, kidney, bladder, prostate andtestis.
