Description: GammaGlutamylaminecyclotransferase is an enzyme that converts gammaglutamylamines to free amines and 5oxoproline which belongs to the gammaglutamylcyclotransferase family. It shows high activity toward gammaglutamylepsilonlysine, derived from the breakdown of fibrin and contributes to degradation of proteins crosslinked by transglutaminases. It degrades the crosslink between a lysine and a glutamic acid residue from two proteins that have been crosslinked by transglutaminases. This protein adopts the newly identified cyclotransferase fold, observed in GammaGlutamylcyclotransferase, an enzyme with activity toward gammaglutamylalphaamino acids.
